We are happy to participate in Art Düsseldorf 2024 with a solo presentation by the painter Tamina Amadyar on booth F02. Additionally, we show Eva Koťátková’s installation with a series of collages, called Speech Organ of Ema, a Girl Who Eats Stones (2014), at the Sculpture Space S&A5.
Amadyar’s new paintings and works on paper are about color, like most of her work, as well as landscape. Color and landscapes represent atmospheres and sentiments, like stillness, freedom, unease or hope. The artist herself says:
“I don’t determinate what to release in the viewers eyes. But by reducing my motifs to their essential, exposing the color itself and embracing the blank I want to create a physical experience of standing in front of the (large, almost stage-like) works (moving through the exhibition space). And in the end I also just try to captivate what you cannot put into words from my own human experience moving through the world.”
Eva Koťátková’s work Speech Organ of Ema, a Girl Who Eats Stones (2014) will be shown at the Sculpture Space S&A5. The gallery has been working together with the artist since her early student days. Koťátková will represent the Czech republic at this year’s Venice Biennale with her installation The heart of a giraffe in captivity is twelve kilos lighter.
